KAL Trustee Adam Fletcher is about to embark on the biggest challenge he has attempted so far:
Well there is no backing out now - my bike is loaded and on the way to Hull Docks!
My biggest charity challenge to date starts tomorrow. Bags are packed and my bike has been serviced ready for the 313 miles, 4 day cycling challenge across Belgium and Holland ending hopefully back in Huddersfield on Friday afternoon. I’ve only had a bike for a matter of months and the early morning and weekend training sessions have been demanding. My aim is to raise £750 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance; Huddersfield Town Foundation; Ruddi’s Retreat and Kirkwood Hospice.
I’ve only owned a bike for a matter of months and this challenge was to kick start my approach to fitness before I turn 40 later in the year.
Throughout my 5+ years as a KAL trustee I have always been proud of the talent and great work carried out by #TeamKAL but this period of training has really highlighted this further. A big thank you must go to Jenn Flaherty not only for the engaging and often challenging early morning spinning classes but her words of wisdom from training for previous events. Justin Wood has also held group spinning classes over the past 20 weeks for those preparing for the P4P10 Cycle ride. His time was offered for free and the money raised from the class bookings will be donated to the fundraising efforts
Your support would mean so much and will hopefully make the days in the saddle all worthwhile.
